Meet the MAC Girls, and Rock Out With Rockin' Rebel - Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hmm… Looks like a few palettes are missing from the new MAC Girls collection. (Coming soon! August 3rd!)
I meet a Rockin' Rebel, a Style Fanatic and a Mischief Minx…merely where'due south Feline Friend? Or Pooped Parent? Or Nutella Nut? Methinks MAC missed an opportunity. Those would have spoken to many existent life MAC Girls.
Which MAC daughter are you?
MAC'south limited edition MAC Girls collection contains 6 $39.50 palettes, each with eight eyeshadows and a big pan of highlighter. Every palette has a different personality. There's Rockin' Rebel, which is the i I'1000 wearing today, with dejection, greens and golds. Mischief Minx, a.grand.a. "the warm palette," keeps cozy with toasty tones of orange, gilded and dark-brown. Fashion Fanatic flirts with bright berries, purples and pinks. Basic Bitch — the smokey palette — is a bad-@ss bevy of cool grays, purples and silvers. In Dainty Princess, pinks, grays, browns and taupes reign supreme. And Power Hungry is the only palette in the release that doesn't have an alliterative proper name…and it's bugging me considering I tin't think of a catchy pun that starts with "P." It's the palette with neutral beiges, browns and bronze.
A couple things are jumping out at me. Similar, I can't recollect the last fourth dimension MAC released a collection that was exclusively comprised of palettes. Tin you? Because their palettes are ordinarily just one component of a larger launch, like they normally practice for holiday. So that's absurd (and weird!).
Shadow formulas I've never seen before
In Rockin' Rebel, at that place's a Foil, something chosen a Satin Shine, a Flossy Matte and another formula chosen Opalescent. Wha?!
And then, yep, lots of newness happening here, and I'm kinda shook!
Pleasantly pleased
Run a finger across a pan and, ooh! — the shadows are so much softer than usual for a MAC LE palette. If you're a true MAC daughter, you lot know that the LE palettes that are merely on shelves for a hot second don't commonly feel or perform as well every bit the O.G. palettes in the permanent line, but the shadows in Rockin' Rebel, for i, experience merely every bit silky as usual.
When I did my eyes today with Rockin' Insubordinate, I kept expecting to have to resort to tomfoolery or shenanigans to become the shadows to show up and alloy together, simply nuh-uh. Goose egg tripped me up. The but thing I noticed was a chip of fallout from the Foils, which take large grains of glitter, just I expected that, so no big deal.
4 hours into this blueish/green/grayness wait, with the eyeshadows layered on top of my trusty NARS Pro-Prime, the shadows showed no signs of disappearing into a pucker or moving into that mysterious dimension where shadows disappear…salvage for a few flecks of glitter that establish their way into my brows.
I can't await to dig into the other palettes, merely and then far, Rockin' Insubordinate, at least, is a "go." 🙂
